~Ntw1103 6-22-2008 Today I installed Vista on my Thinkpad R60(This is my secondary computer, my main is the HP Tc4200 tablet.) It wasn't hard setting it up. (much better than previous windows instalations) the whole process took about an hour, and it took me another hour to get all the drivers and programs I use. I will say this, They did fix a couple things, and added some small things that are a lot better than XP. Although at this point you can get a program for xp that does exactly what these features do. One thing I am kind of excited about is the Tablet PC options. Part of the reason or installing it was to see how it worked and if it was worth sticking on my tablet. My tablet doesn't have a CD-drive, so I would have to buy one to install it. I am really happy with Tablet XP. it is one of the stablest operating systems I have used, but some of the small things are tempting. If I do get an external drive, I will probably install it. ~Ntw1103 6-19-2008 Yesterday was a long day. First my car didn't start. The starter went bad, but I was able to get is fixed today with my Dad's help. (Thanks a Lot!) I had to get a ride to work. After I got home, my brother brought a computer up to me; a Toshiba A215-s4817. The laptop came with Vista, but the lady who owns it wanted Windows XP installed on it. My brother made a deal with her, that if he installed XP, he would get Vista. My brother wasn't able to get any of the drivers working. He asked me to do it. As the computer geek I am, I had to proove that I could do it. (that or I am just weird like that. I was up till 0300 working on it. I installed a couple Anti-Virus programs to see if I missed anything. (I only missed 1 file) I use AVG free, and Avast free scanner. also while I was removing things manually I had ThreatFire (from PC tools) running to stop any other programs from running that shouldn't. Troubleshooting a problem I created. ~Ntw1103 5-2-2008 Hello, sorry for the slow updates for such a long time, but I have finally finished school. I am free! anyway. Tomorrow my bro is getting married. (congrats.) and we have some family staying at the house. well one family member when he got here started going to torrent sites. (he is big on movie downloads) I told him right away that he wasn't allowed to. He said okay and closed out the programs. The reason why I didn't want them on the sites, is purely because I don't want to et in trouble. I saw what he was doing. (I do not promote Illegal downloads) his methods were not up to date. and based on what I saw I am suprised he hasn't been busted yet. (there are better ways to do it. (won't go there)) anyway as I was walking past him later I noticed him on another torrent site. so I logged into the router and blocked his MAC address. as I mentioned earlier there are better ways of doing what he was doing. He doesn't even know about MAC address and how they work, so it was able to stop him. yay. until he came and started asking me how to fix it. It is REALLY hard to troubleshoot a problem you created and don't want fixed. Read Comment... ~Ntw1103 4-12-2008 I was able to figure out the problm. (not just now, I figured out about a day after posting about it, but have been busy) The problem had to do with the wifi driver on my laptop. I was able to get the internet working useing the local proxey, but I have no need for that after I reinstalled the driver. Read Comment... ~Ntw1103 3-12-2008 I have had this problem a few times, and I am not sure what's causeing it. When I am upstairs in my bedroom using the wifi for internet browsing. the connections will be lost. The wifi is still connected, and I am able to access my other computers that are on the network. I just can't use the internet. I don't know why, but I am going to try setting up a local network proxy, because my other computers can still access the internet. Read Comment... StarGate The Ark of Truth. ~Ntw1103, 3-11-2008 The Stargate move Ark of Truth just came out today. I have been waiting for this since they announced it. It is the first of two direct to DVD Stargate movies that are being released. I couldn't by it right away because of school, but as soon as I was out I went to Target. Target wasn't prepared to meet the demand and was sold out. LAME! So I went across the street to Wally world(Wal-Mart) and picked it up. I am just glad they had it in stock. I plan to put a review up after I am done watching it. Here are some of the things I am thinking about doing. Fix the comments categories to add: reviews for tech. reading (this will go over stuff I have read that I think other people should read.) Big brother(this will be about what the Gov. is up to.) Cheapskate (this will be an over view of free to download programs) reviews for movies reviews for anime.

Toshiba announced on the 13th of December they were adding 5 new Hard Drives to their 1.8" Lineup. The new additions consists of, 120gb, 80gb, and 3 60gb drives. The 120gb, and 80gb drive are focused on laptops and UMPC's, while the three 60gb drives are focused on Consumer electronic devices such as camcorders, digital cameras and other handheld devices Click Read to view the press release. ) I was able to get the network and a bunch of other drivers working. Enough so that he would be able to do the rest. I went back to my computer and installed Zend studio. As soon as it finished installing, I had a Virus(trojan) take over my computer. It spent 2 hours and was able to remove it manually. For me it is kinda fun to remove them, but I don't like that if I am not able to I loose lots of data.
